Yo-Yo Tournament

State Championships

Division One: Ages 10 and under

Division Two: Ages 11-16

Division Three: Ages 17 & up

Competitors in each division will need to execute both the 1S and 2S trick ladders. Only one attempt is allowed on each trick. As each trick is made, the competitor continues down the list and attempts the next trick. If one trick is missed, the competitor continues down the list. When a second trick is missed, the competitor is finished for that trick ladder. The competitor's score will be the number of combined tricks made from both trick ladders. The winner will be the player with the highest combined total from both the 1S and 2S ladders.

The competitor's score will be the number of tricks made.

Advanced Freestyle Competition

Each competitor will execute a one (1) minute routine of as many different tricks as they can complete. They will be judged on the difficulty and accuracy of the tricks.

The top six competitors from the one-minute routines will advance to the finals and become the judges for their fellow finalists. These six finalists will then perform a three (3) minute routine. The three minute routine will be executed with music supplied by the contestant. Points will be awarded by the judges for a) technical execution and b) performance style and yo-yo artistry. Technical execution points will be awarded for: advance level tricks completed, trick difficulty, originality, and transitions between tricks.
